physical description:
atlanta is a very pretty girl, representing both of her parents' genes well. her mother was a white arab mix, her father a dark dappled gray andalusian. her pelt came out as a pale dappled gray, the markings around her nose and lips reminiscent of her mother's, as well her white mane and tail. she stands at 15.3 hands high, and she looks at the world through deeply troubled brown eyes. you can find an image of her here.
traits description
considerate, intelligent, diligent, dynamic, practical. (positive)a look into the past
cynical, deceitful, possessive, selfish, untrustworthy. (negative)
atlanta was born in lands not far from here, into a herd with a kind and just leader. his name, her father's name, was revenant. he was kind and fair to all the subjects in his land, and he watched over all his mares gently and lovingly. there was no mare that he loved more than her mother, the queen, artemis. she was their first foal, born into a pair of twins. atlantis and atlanta. her parents were thrilled, and she can remember the warmth and loving she felt in the first month of her life.
but then her mother left without a word. her father was distraught, beside himself. there was another nursing mare in the herd who offered to take the twins, but unfortunately atlantis couldn't get enough nutrients and died. it was then that her father left the land, passing it off to a cruel and deceitful stallion. the stallion allowed renevant's offspring to live, as he had promised, but they were treated as second-class citizens in the herd. this was a harsh change for atlanta, who had previously been regarded as a princess.
the first year of her life was spent in despair over the family she had lost so suddenly. though the herd was supposed to be cruel to her, they only were if the lead stallion was watching. all of the mares missed her father, and they believed that he would come back and save them. atlanta held no such beliefs. her father's mind had been broken, he was no longer the stallion who claimed and loved these mares. however, when atlanta's form began to fill out into that of a mare, the new lead took a very real interest in her.
suddenly he kept her with him at all times, and he started breeding her much too young. she fell pregnant shortly after this, but the foal was born too soon, at around 9 months, and it only lived for a few hours. that night, when the lead stallion was asleep, atlanta left. she traveled constantly, never stopping until she came upon these lands. her mind is not broken, she is not so weak as her father, but she can be cruel, and empathy is not in her vocabulary.

The dappled stag took a deep breath through his nostrils, his chest expanding fully, and then he blew out hard, and pawed the ground. Revenant was nervous. He wanted to name his queen, he knew who he wanted her to be. The mare was perfect. Beautiful, kind... But he didn't know how to ask. Or maybe it was because he was scared that she would reject him, things would get awkward, and then she would leave. After all, she was here on a 'probationary period'. She wanted to see if she liked it here before she decided to stay permanently. So what if she decided she didn't like it? She would leave. Which was why the stallion felt that he needed to share his feelings with her soon. Let her know, and maybe then she would stay. Maybe if she was his mate.. She would be really happy with him. Maybe she wouldn't leave him. Maybe another stallion wouldn't snatch her away from him.
He swallowed. He had to go talk to her about it. And so, with finality in his blue eyes, he stomped on the ground. He walked over to the stream and looked at his reflection. The same as always. White with light gray dapples, dark gray socks, dark gray mane, blue eyes. Nothing special, though Geisha seemed to think that he looked refined. Revenant lowered his head and pressed his lips against the water, sucking some up into his mouth and then swallowing. He looked up into the sky and his nostrils flared as he smelled for her. He caught her scent and started in her direction, each step causing his muscles to ripple underneath his light pelt.
He reached her soon enough, and she looked beautiful standing there in what little light dusk had to offer. She didn't seem to be doing anything, just standing there. So, with a thudding in his chest, Revenant walked up to her. He smiled warmly, it was virtually impossible to tell how nervous he was.
"Good evening, Artemis. How have you been?" He greeted, his vocals warm and kind as always.
